Dr. Oetker Bistro Baguette

Image
These pizza styled baguettes are the perfect solution for a between meal snack or a quick and easy lunch. each pack contains two baguette pizzas and they come in three flavours, pepperoni, speciale, or cheese and tomato. They take about 10 - 15 minutes in the oven, they can also be cooked in the air fryer. They cool very quickly once cooked meaning you won't have to wait ages for your food to cool down to eat. Each flavour is unique so you will have a variety to choose from. Once cooked the crust of the baguette is nice and crunchy but the middle is soft and doughy, giving a variety of textures. These are perfect for both adults and children. When you don't have a lot of time to spare these are perfect.  For those out there that value the aesthetic of their food, once cooked the cheese is a lovely golden brown and the baguette is the same. It always surprises me that quick freezer food cannot only taste but look so good.  The danger with these is that they are so quick, ...

Summer Reading list

Image
This summer I'm hoping to sink my teeth into a number of books. They say "never judge a book by its cover", but lets be honest we all do to some extent. Most of the books that peak my interest when I'm looking in a bookshop have bright, colourful and aesthetically pleasing covers. The next thing I do is reading the blurb on the back and then finally I'll read the first few pages to see if the opening grabs my attention.  With this in mind my summer reading list is: 1. the twisted series (love, games, hate, lies) - this series took booktok by storm last year, so I'm a little late to the game, but better late then never. the covers are simple yet elegant. The light, pastel coloured cover with the bright shiny letters really grabs the eye on a bookshelf. These books are perfect if you want to use books to decorate as well a read. The blurb talks of an enemies to lovers story line, that if we're being honest has been done a lot, it will be interesting to see ...

Summer is here, and so is the opportunity to indulge in the luxury of reading. Whether you're lounging in a hammock, snuggled up in bed, or sunbathing at the beach, summer begs us to set aside time for something we all desire – a good book. Studies have shown that reading improves our mental wellbeing, reduces stress levels, and is an excellent means to learn and grow. Summer reading programs are not just for kids – they're for everyone! They provide an occasion to expand our horizons, try new authors, and explore different genres. What's more, summer reading programs publicize the power of reading, promoting the benefits that come from making connections with the written word. ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES: movie vs book (TW. mental health, suicide) SPOILER ALERT

Image
The young adults novel "All the Bright Places" by Jennifer Niven is a well-written and touching story of teenagers struggling with various issues that bring them together in the most unlikely way. The 2020 movie adaptation from netflix of the book, however, has received mixed reviews from the audience. While the book delves into the mental health issues of Theodore Finch and Violet Markey in great detail, from both teens point of view, the movie noticeably skims through certain parts. As a result, some of the story's emotional impact is lost in the film and the audience might not fully understand the depth of the characters' struggles. On a positive note, the movie does an excellent job of characterizing Violet and Theodore as unique and complex individuals with distinct and genuine personalities. The actors, Elle Fanning and Justice Smith, deliver powerful performances that highlight the emotional turbulence going on beneath the surface. However, the movie has been c...
